AI translation (日本語 → English)[Documents Exempted (In My Case)]
[Documents Submitted This Time]
[Documents Required Because It’s the Second Time]
For the first time (in 2014), I submitted a complete set that included both "documents submitted this time" and "documents exempted."
[Documents Prepared Just in Case, But Didn’t Need to Submit]
I was anxious, so I gathered quite a few extra documents. In the end, none of them needed to be attached.
[Exemptions Confirmed by Email]
When I searched online, I found information stating that "the second time is exempt," but I didn’t know the details. So, I contacted the consulate via email to confirm which documents were exempt. It seems that the range of exemptions varies depending on the applicant's situation, so I recommend confirming it without fail.
*This was my experience (September 2026, Korean Consulate in Osaka). The required documents may change, so please check with the consulate where you are applying for the latest information (https://overseas.mofa.go.kr/jp-osaka-ja/index.do).*
