Terms of Use

jp.pyol.net (the "Service") is a message board where Japanese people living in Korea and Korean- and English-speakers share information and connect. To keep it a free place where promotion and recruiting are allowed, the rules are strict. By signing up you agree to these Terms, the Community Rules and the Privacy Policy.

1. Fees

All boards are free. The operator does not earn advertising revenue, but may show notices about the operator's own business.

2. Accounts

  1. You must be 14 or older.
  2. Sign up with a Google account or an email address and password. Email sign-ups cannot post until the email address is confirmed.
  3. You choose your nickname when you sign up and, as a rule, it cannot be changed. Names that impersonate others or the operator, or that are offensive, are not allowed.
  4. One person, one account. Lending or selling accounts is prohibited.

3. Prohibited content and conduct

Posts are checked automatically by AI and a keyword list. Matching posts are rejected or held for review.

  1. Dating, romance or sexual solicitation (including posts disguised as "looking for friends")
  2. "High-pay" jobs, illegal part-time work, cash couriers and similar offers that may lead to crime
  3. Solicitation for FX, stocks, crypto or investments, guaranteed returns, "leading rooms"
  4. Pyramid schemes, MLM, info-product schemes
  5. Buying, selling or lending bank accounts, cards, phones, identities or accounts
  6. Illegal activity (drugs, forged documents, unlicensed money exchange or remittance, illegal employment brokering, etc.)
  7. Harassment, threats, discrimination or hate speech
  8. Posting other people's personal information without consent
  9. Infringing copyrights, portrait rights or trademarks
  10. Repeated posts, promotion outside the allowed places, spam
  11. Impersonating others, organizations or the operator
  12. Any sexual content involving minors (reported to the authorities)
  13. Interfering with the Service (unauthorized access, bots, bypassing limits, etc.)

4. Promotion, recruiting and trading

  1. Promotions must use the "PR" post type on boards that allow it, within a weekly limit, by verified members only.
  2. Approved businesses get a "Business ✓" badge after the operator checks their registration number.
  3. Recruiting, trading and job posts need an end date and close automatically.
  4. Trades are between members. The operator is not a party and is not liable for losses. Be careful with prepayment and requests for bank details.

5. AI translation and checks

  1. The Service uses AI (OpenAI services) for translation and for checking prohibited content, so post content is sent to the AI provider (see the Privacy Policy).
  2. AI translations can be wrong. Check the original for important matters.
  3. AI checks can be wrong. You can appeal from My page and the operator will review it.

6. Editing and deleting

  1. You can edit your post within 24 hours of posting, and delete it at any time.
  2. Earlier versions and deleted content are kept for a period in case of lawful requests (Section 8).
  3. You keep the copyright in your posts and allow the operator to display, translate and make them available to search engines.

7. Enforcement

For violations the operator may, without notice, take the actions below and will tell you the reason.

  1. Hide or delete posts
  2. Warnings (2 within 90 days: read-only for 7 days; 3: suspended for 30 days)
  3. Read-only: you can read but cannot post, message or report (7 days, 30 days or indefinitely)
  4. Suspension: you cannot log in (7 days, 30 days or indefinitely)
  5. Deletion: the account is deleted and re-registration with the same email or Google account is refused

8. Records and disclosure

To prevent crime and help victims, the operator keeps records of logins, posts, messages and moderation (including time and IP address). Records are disclosed, to the extent necessary, when police, courts or other public authorities make a formal request under the law.

9. Direct messages

  1. Members can message each other. The recipient can block or unblock each sender at any time.
  2. Messages are checked like posts. The operator does not read messages unless they are reported, except as in Section 8.

10. Disclaimer

  1. The operator does not guarantee the accuracy or safety of posts. Disputes between members are for the members to resolve.
  2. The Service may be stopped or changed without notice for maintenance or other unavoidable reasons.
  3. Except for intent or gross negligence, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the Service.

11. Leaving

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. Account data is kept for 30 days, then personal data is erased. Posts remain as posts by a "deleted member" (delete any posts you want removed before leaving).

12. Changes

The operator may change these Terms. Important changes are announced on the Service at least 7 days before they take effect.

13. Governing law and language

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. They are provided in Japanese, Korean and English; if they differ, the Japanese version prevails.
